Dancing & Movement

Dancing & Movement Kime Eisele, a professional dancer, is the teaching artist who has brought innovative ways to weave movement into all aspects of the curriculum.  The SAAA project integrated movement and dance into the Social Studies, Language Arts, Science and ELL Curriculum.  Kimi has used movement to establish the foundation for dance and to integrate curriculum concepts into movement and choreography.

Visual Arts

Visual Arts Schools experienced art with two visual artists, Susan Corl or Alex Jones.  They are both practicing, professional artists.  The two of them have been able to deliver extremely diverse art standards experiences that were integrated into the numerous core curricula. Here, a Naco Elementary School student displays his art work, with his creativity enhanced by resident artists.

Odaiko Sonora Taiko Drummers

Odaiko Sonora Taiko Drummers Taiko instructors demonstrating performance techniques. All schools received basic instructions in Taiko and did a performance for their school and community. At some sites the entire community was invited to perform! the Taiko trainings and performances with students were done under the direction of the Odaiko Sonora founders and teachers: Karen Falkenstrom and Rome Hammer. Nature Photography

Nature Photography Nature photo from Ft. Thomas High School — The photography and media component of the project was led by Josh Schechter, an award winning professional photographer. He engaged students in the many aspects of photography.  This photo was taken by Heidi Stanley of Ft. Thomas High School on a photography field trip to the Cluff Ranch Wildlife area, near Pima, AZ.

The Witches of MacBeth

The Witches of MacBeth Macbeth Drama production of Macbeth performed by students from Ft. Thomas High School.  Here they are performing a scene of the three witches around their cauldron where they are predicting amazing and magical events.  These students worked with their teacher Ms. Sandra Hill and Mr. Paul Fisher, a professional actor and drama instructor during his integration residency.  Along with Ms. Hill the students chose the scene, created the props and costumes (using dry ice for the smoke).
